Discover the Magic of Storytime at Nesmith Library
Ever wondered what goes into a library storytime? Use this handy guide to discover the basics and expectations for each age group!
Baby Storytime
Birth to 18 Months
No registration
Join Miss Courtney on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM for a cozy, quick 20-minute session where babies and caregivers get to enjoy finger plays, rhymes, and stories together. No need to register — we know babies have their own schedules! While the focus is on baby development, feel free to bring siblings along.
Toddler Storytime
18 Months to 3 Years Old
Registration Required
Our toddler storytime is so popular that we offer it twice – On Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:30 AM! Miss Joan can’t wait to see you all at Toddler Storytime! Toddlers are getting more engaged with books and music, so our sessions are a bit longer (30+ minutes) and have more structure. It’s all about supporting your toddler’s growth, but siblings of all ages are welcome too.
Registration is required, but we’ve eliminated sessions for Toddler Storytime in favor of registering weekly to keep things flexible.
Preschool Storytime
3 to 5 Years Old
Registration Required
For preschoolers ages 3 to 5 years old, Miss Courtney offers a 45-minute storytime on Thursdays at 10:30 AM that balances fun with learning. As many preschoolers are already in part-time programs, this storytime encourages independence while still involving the family. We’ll dive into literacy, music, and even early learning concepts like numbers and letters.
With rolling registration for 6-week sessions, your child can make new friends in a familiar setting whenever space is available.
