Adventure Begins at Your Library!
Registration opens June 24, 2024!
Join Nesmith Library this summer for our 2024 Summer Reading Program! We've got a calendar full of events, performers, raffles, and other activities for children, teens, and adults.
How to Participate in Nesmith Library Summer Reading on Beanstack
- Register beginning on June 24!
- Register on Beanstack (in your browser or download the app). You will need an email and password, and select the challenge best suited to your age group.
- Caregivers can sign up children as readers under a single account (and also participate in Adult Summer Reading themselves!).
- If you have used Beanstack with us in a prior summer or during 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, you will use the same log in and select this summer's challenge to get started.
- Read!
- Log your reading using Beanstack (in your browser or download the app).
- Want some suggestions? Request a Mystery Bag and a librarian will put together items for you!
- Attend Nesmith Library events:
- Visit the Event Calendar for dates and times.
- Follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
- Subscribe to our updates email newsletter.
- Use raffle tickets in Beanstack to enter our prize drawings:
- You will earn tickets as you log your reading on Beanstack, and then you can apply those challenge rewards to prize drawings!
- Winners will be drawn from the pool of all of our participants. Winners will be notified at the end of the summer.
Please note that raffle prizes and drawings are for Nesmith Library cardholders only: all are welcome to attend our non-registered events and to visit the library! If you live in Windham (or work for the town or schools) and don't yet have a library card, stop by to sign up for free!

Teen Summer Reading Participants (Grades 7-12):
Register using this Google Form starting on June 24, and then come to the library to get your registration bag while supplies last.
The more you read, the more "Book Bucks" you earn! Here's how it works:
- Grab your registration bag at the library while supplies last.
- Fill out the freebie "Book Buck" in your bag or pick up a blank one at the front desk.
- Read and review books at your reading level.
- Reviews should be at least 2-3 sentences showing you read the book.
- Fill out the entire "Book Buck" (name, phone, grade, book title, author, book review, and raffle submission).
- Give your "Book Buck" to a librarian to pick a prize out of the prize cabinet and your "Book Buck" will also be entered into the end of summer raffle.
Adult Summer Reading Participants: If you prefer not to use Beanstack to track your reading digitally, you can visit the front desk at the library to register on our paper list, and fill out raffle entry slips as you read books this summer, and place them in our raffle baskets. We will draw winners at the end of the summer from everyone who participates, whether on paper or online! Paper tracking is only available for Adult Summer Reading participants ages 16 & up.
