This week in Story Hour we talked about snow! In addition to some really fun, wintry books, we sang songs and used jingle bells and scarves. Each child received a little polar bear finger puppet and worked on a "color-your-own" winter puzzle.
For the December Makerspace Club, the kids made light-up ornaments using a pipe cleaner, an LED light and a coin battery. It was exciting to see the circuits working! Many of them tried their hand at making perler bead creations. Two teams of kids also tried some new projects with the Snap Circuits including a strobe light and a musical switch. Many thank to the Friends of the Library for purchasing the Snap Circuits and other Makerspace items.
The winter Story Hour session started this week! The children were excited to read about puppies and dogs. They learned about the different jobs dogs can do and danced to some songs played on the ukulele. They even made paper bag puppets to take home!
Macs was a busy doggie this week. Many children came to practice their reading skills with him. Doesn't he look happy?
For our last Story Hour, each child brought in their favorite stuffed animal. We read all kinds of stories about teddy bears and stuffed animals. We also danced with our animals! Each child made their own paper plate teddy bear to take home. We had a great fall session and look forward to our winter Story Hour session!

his week in Story Hour, we focused on Laura Numeroff's books. She wrote "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie" and many other titles with similar plots, always involving animals and food. Since "If You Give A Dog A Donut" was one of our stories, the kids each made their own donut with real sprinkles!
This week at Story Hour, the children learned all about piggies! They each made a muddy pig of their own to bring home.
