Homeschooling Resources

The Nesmith Library seeks to act as a resource for Windham homeschooling parents and their children.

Current Library Services: Please visit our Phased Reopening and Updates pages to see all of our current services.

Hoopla has several collections focused on school for caregivers and children:

Back to School: First Day Confidence for Kids
Back to School for Parents
Homeschool with Hoopla
Learning with STEAM: Titles for Kids & Teens

Guidance from Institutions:

The Lane Memorial Library and the North Hampton Public Library had a panel of homeschool parents and the NH Homeschooling Coalition's Portsmouth representative to share their experiences with homeschooling. The session included a Q&A from the audience and directed questions from the host libraries.

Places to Search:

A great resource is Pinterest.  In the search box use "homeschooling" and related terms, then click on "boards."  The results will bring back hundreds of boards containing thousands of links to teaching methods, curriculum materials, etc.

Use this search box to search "home schooling" to see everything we have available in our catalog, including items available at other GMILCS libraries available for borrowing.

Here is a selection of items available from Nesmith Library which feature homeschooling: some of them are fiction with stories that include homeschooling, while some of them are nonfiction and feature advice and guidance about curriculum and other homeschooling information.
