Nesmith Quilters

A Message from the Nesmith Quilters:

The Nesmith Quilters meet twice a month in the Multipurpose Room at the Library. Since 2010, this group of volunteers who sew have created one quilt each year that has been raffled off at the FLOW (Friends of the Library of Windham) annual Strawberry Festival. These quilts have raised over $10,000 to benefit the library's patrons.

Over the years, the members have forged some wonderful friendships and learned new skills that have enhanced our own sewing abilities. Recently our numbers have decreased as we have had to bid farewell to some friends as they moved away to other places or took on other responsibilities. We welcome new members to our group, from beginners just learning to sew to lifelong quilters and sewing enthusiasts.

We are hoping to increase our numbers so we can take on another raffle quilt project in the future. At this time we are meeting and working on individual projects sharing our quilting knowledge and design tips.

Would you like to join us? The only requirements are a desire to participate and a willingness to learn and share your knowledge. You need not be  a Windham resident, just someone who is interested in developing some new skills and making some new friends. If you would like more information, please leave your name and contact information at the Nesmith Library check-out desk and we will contact you.
