Join us on Tuesday, June 25th as we learn about New England Lighthouses and the People Who Kept Them. Due to automation, traditional lighthouse keeping is a way of life that has faded into the past. Come hear the history of these lighthouses and the stories of their keepers and their families.

Have you ever thought about preserving or drying foods but were afraid of making your family ill with food poisoning? Join us on Wednesday, June 5th at 6pm when Ann Hamilton, Food Safety Field Specialist at the UNH Cooperative Extension, talks about food preservation safety. In this introductory class, Ann will cover the latest research-based methods and recipes, and share her knowledge about preserving food safely at home. She will also discuss using boiling water canners, using pressure canners, and freezing and drying food.
Join us at the Nesmith Library on Tuesday, May 21st at 6pm, as we welcome UNH Extension Field Specialist Elaina Enzien and learn about the practical tips and facts for raising egg-laying hens, or broilers, in your own backyard. This workshop is appropriate for those interested in obtaining chickens, or those who already own backyard chickens and want to learn more about their proper care.
Spring has sprung (well, almost) and we're welcoming it in by creating Spring-themed bookmarks! We'll be crafting with colorful paper cutouts of flowers, birds, and other sunny things to make our bookmarks really sing. All supplies will be provided.

Bethany will cover the basics of soil preparation and planning your vegetable garden to maximize your harvests.
