Intro to Scratch Coding

 Back by popular demand: TheNesmith Library will offer and Intro to Scratch Coding for students in grades 3  through 5.  A high school volunteer will introduce children to the basics of Scratch.  Scratch is an online coding platform intended to teach the basic concepts of computer programming.  With Scratch, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.

WONDERful World of Science and One Book One Windham Kick Off!

Join us at the library from 10am - 2pm as the Friends of the Library of Windham (F.L.O.W.) presents their annual children’s event, the WONDERful World of Science! This year they've themed their program after their One Book One Windham town-wide read, Wonder by R.J. Palacio. There will be science-themed crafts, activities, and snacks galore! At 11am the SEE Science Center’s SEEmobile will be here with a fabulous demonstration! Kids will get the chance to have some hands-on experience playing with polymers and making kaleidoscopes. Don't leave without getting your FREE FROSTY!

Story Hour Registration

Registration for the 2018 winter/spring story hour session will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 9:00 am . Numbers for obtaining a spot in story hour are handed out in person beginning at 9am. Phone registrations are taken only after the in-house library registration is completed, if openings are still available.

Drop-in Craft

Drop by on Tuesday, July 10th from 1-3pm to make your own turtle craft! All supplies provided. Parents will work with their children to complete the craft here. Event is free, and no registration is required. Recommended for ages 4 and up.  While supplies last. 

The Yo-Yo Guy Show!

On Thursday, December 28 at 10:30 am, the Nesmith Library will host John Higby, "The Yo-Yo Guy.”  This is a one-of-a-kind, unique, high-energy show you won’t want to miss! For 45 minutes, John will keep the whole family entertained with his interactive performance using comedy, yo-yos, and audience participation.

Toddler Time

Toddler Time is a drop-in program for children ages 18 months to 3 years accompanied by a parent or other adult. This program features books, songs, and movement activities to help develop your child's language and socialization skills.
