First Day FLOW Book Sale Donations Accepted
Today is the first day donations will be accepted for the Friends of the Library of Windham (FLOW) booksales. We will accept current materials in excellent condition only. We take books, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, and games. We cannot use materials older than five years, textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, VHS tapes, cassettes, or items with missing pieces--please consider donating these elsewhere.

The Library will be closed today to afford staff members the opportunity to attend the joint New England Library Association-New Hampshire Library Association conference. Staff members will attend workshops, lectures, and demonstations to increase their knowledge and skills so that may better serve our community.

Craft Club: Decorated Flower Pots
Craft club continues its daytime events with a flower pot craft. We'll be using different techniques such as fabric decoupage, and painting, to spruce up ordinary terra cotta pots. If you have extra pots at home that you would like to decorate, bring them with you. All supplies provided. Event is free, and open to the public. Space is limited. Please call 432-7154 to register. Children are welcome to attend with an adult.

This entertaining presentation by Kevin Comtois reviews the history and musical culture of New Orleans, the birth of a new music called Jazz, the many colorful creators of this music, and it’s evolution to Swing and Big Band music.
