Paint a Mural

(and eat some PIZZA!)

Monday, June 21st 11-1

Young adults are invited to create a mural that will hang outside the library to help promote the Teen Summer Reading Program. 

The library will provide PIZZA and beverages. 




Friday, June 25th 11-1

Deb Humiston from Ultimate Treasure Hunts will be here to lead a one-of-a-kind

scavenger hunt based on the international sport of

orienteering and utilizing GPS technology.

"Make Waves At Your Library”


Read and collect fun prizes!

It’s easy!  Sign up at the

Scavenger Hunt Kick-Off Party on Friday, June 25th or in the library anytime after

June 25th.

 You will receive a Book Buck for each book review form you complete.  Use your Book Bucks to buy fun prizes from the library display case.  Then, put your name & # on the other side of the Book Buck and it becomes a raffle ticket for bigger prizes! 

 Go to the Teen section and drop your raffle ticket into the prize can of your choice.  Raffle prizes will be awarded at the end of the summer reading party on Friday, August 6th.

 The last day to hand in Reviews for Book Bucks to buy prizes is Friday, August 6th.

Remember, you must read at your ability level. 

Beneath The Waves Art Contest!

All pieces must be submitted on either July 26th or July 27th

 Make waves with your original artwork!  Make art in any form with any materials you like as long as it follows the theme “Beneath The Waves”. Create your masterpiece at home and submit it to Teen Librarian Lori Morse on either July 26th or 27th.  Your art will then be displayed in the library where visitors can vote for their favorite.  The top three artists will each receive a prize!

 Please clearly label your artwork with your name and phone # so we can give your piece back to you after the contest is over.


Open Art Afternoon

Monday, June 28th 1-3

Choose your own art/craft project from a variety of options!  Make one project or a few (while supplies last)! 

Feel free to stay for a little while or the whole time and enjoy a snack while you are working.


Teen Volunteer Orientation

Tuesday, June 29th at 1:00

If you are 13 years of age or older, and would like to

help out in the children’s room this summer, come to the

meeting and learn more!  It’s a great way to earn volunteer hours!

Friday, July 9th 1-2

Using various ocean-themed materials, make a completely cool, unique t-shirt.

Please bring at least 2 t-shirts with you to this program.

Zentangles” Art Program with Artist Kristine Brock

Monday, July 12th


Zentangle is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful

images from repetitive patterns. It is a fascinating new art form that is fun and relaxing.

Read-To-Me Breakfast

Have fun with the little kids!

Enjoy breakfast treats and read some beach-themed picture books to children ages 3-8. 

Please sign up early for this program so we have enough teens to read to the kids.

Traveling Tide Pool

presented by the Seacoast Science Center

Wednesday, July 21st 1-2


 Observe and handle live intertidal animals such as crabs, sea stars, and sea urchins and learn how they live on the seacoast here in New Hampshire.

Yoga with Amy Spencer

Friday, July 23rd 1-2:30

Yoga instructor Amy Spencer will lead a basic yoga class for teens.  This program is for all levels of experience.  Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat if you have one.

Transform an ordinary cigar box into a treasure chest to store all your favorite summer souvenirs and trinkets.

Make a Sea Creature

Friday, July 30th 1-2

Make your own scary, wacky, cute, funky, etc. sea creature with fabric and lots of

embellishments.  You do not need to know how to sew for this project - it’s super fun and easy!

The Boston Museum of

Science Presents:

 Rockets: There and Back Again

Monday, August 2nd 1-2

Create an air rocket that launches across the room, and engineer a way for a payload to return safely to Earth.  This hands-on workshop explores the science behind rockets and space exploration. Use your imagination to plan, build, and test your own design.
