Fall Frights of Folklore!

On Tuesday, November 4th at 10:00am Massabesic Audubon Center presented

 “Fall Frights of Folklore!”

Do bats really get stuck in your hair?  Can owls turn their heads all the way around?  If you touch a toad, will you really get warts?

Common toad

This program addressed and dispelled some of the common nature misconceptions and revealed how people throughout history have used legends and stories to explain how the world works.

One by one, creatures were taken out of the sack.

Children gave "thumb's up" or "thumb's down" to each.

These were definitely less popular!

Children gently handled

a big snake skin.

The only poisonous snake in New Hampshire is an Endangered Species.

The most popular guest was a snake! Anyone who wished to

could touch the snake.

Not everyone was too eager to pet the snake!

Adults were brave as well!
