Nesmith Library Mission Statement

The Nesmith Library advances knowledge and promotes literacy, lifelong learning, and the love of reading by providing exceptional services and materials in a variety of formats and technologies. Our mission is to inspire, empower, and enrich the lives of readers of all ages; to be a space where the community comes together to share ideas; and to promote and defend intellectual freedom.

Adopted January 10, 2012

The mission of the Nesmith Library is to provide access to informational, educational, cultural, and recreational library materials and services in a variety of formats and technologies; to be responsive to the public library needs of the community; and to support the principle of intellectual freedom as a foundation of a free society.
